Player Communication

The player must communicate. Parents can help prepare. Parents can proofread. Parents can organize. Parents can advise. But the player must own the communication. College coaches are not only evaluating soccer. They are evaluating maturity. If a parent writes every email, makes every call, asks every question, and manages every interaction, the player looks dependent. That is a problem. What Coaches Want to See Coaches want to see whether the player can: Introduce themselves Communicate clearly Follow up Handle silence Ask appropriate questions Take feedback Manage schedule Show interest Show maturity Own the process That matters because college players must operate without parents managing every detail.
