The Training Load Standard

A Soccer Parent Standard family does not confuse exhaustion with development.

They understand that players need challenge, but they also need recovery. They do not add sessions just because other families do.They do not buy private training to calm parent anxiety. They do not force tournaments without purpose. They do not ignore pain. They do not call burnout laziness. They do not let soccer destroy school, sleep, or family health. They do not wait for injury before adjusting load.

They manage.

They ask:

What is the player carrying this week?

What is the purpose of the work?

Can the player recover?

Is the player improving or just surviving?

Is the player still enjoying the game?

What needs to be reduced?

What does the body say?

What does the player say?

More is not development.

Better is development.

Recoverable, purposeful, player-owned work is development.

That is the standard.
