The Parent Role Standard

By the end of this module, parents should understand the standard.

A Soccer Parent Standard parent supports the child before evaluating the player. They let the coach coach. They do not sideline coach. They do not abuse referees. They do not turn the car ride into a trial. They ask development questions instead of emotional questions. They understand the true cost of soccer. They know what each expense is supposed to solve. They evaluate environments with evidence. They protect school, sleep, recovery, and family health. They help the player own communication as they mature. They do not confuse status with development. They do not buy pathway language without verification. They know when to stay, when to move, and when to stop chasing.

This is not passive parenting. This is disciplined parenting.

The best soccer parents are not invisible. They are stable, informed, and hard to manipulate. They do not chase every badge. They do not believe every promise. They do not panic after every game. They do not outsource judgment to club marketing. They do not turn their child into an investment thesis.

They make decisions like operators.

That is the role.
