Build the Recruiting or Pathway Plan

Not every player needs a recruiting or pathway plan. But if the player has college, academy, semi-pro, pre-pro, or overseas goals, the plan must be written down. Vague hope is not enough. For college-bound players, define: - Target graduation year - Current level - Academic profile - Target divisions - Target school list - Video needs - Event schedule - Email schedule - Club coach support - Family budget - Visit plan - Rule verification - Decision deadlines The family should know where the player is in the process. Examples: - Building profile - Initial outreach - Active communication - Coach evaluation - Camp/visit stage - Offer discussion - Reassessing level - Alternative plan If the player is pursuing academy environments, define: - Which academy - Why - What division/platform - Coach - Cost - Schedule - Roster size - Player role - High school rules - Advancement history - Exit plan Do not pursue academy soccer because the word sounds serious. If the player is older and considering adult soccer, define: - League - Club - Contract/payment status - Eligibility implications - Housing - Medical coverage - Training schedule - Match schedule - Player role - Cost - Exit plan Do not enter adult soccer without verification.
