The Club Finance Standard

A Soccer Parent Standard family understands that clubs have economics. They do not assume every fee is exploitation. They do not assume every expensive club is high quality. They do not assume every cheap club is good value. They do not assume every tournament has purpose. They do not assume every roster decision is developmental. They do not assume every add-on is necessary. They do not confuse business operations with player development.

They ask better questions.

They ask:

What is included?

What is not included?

What is the all-in cost?

What is the roster size?

What is the playing-time policy?

What is the feedback process?

What is the training plan?

What is the tournament purpose?

What is required and what is optional?

What happens if the player is injured?

What are we really buying?

Parents who understand the money are harder to manipulate.

They are also fairer to good clubs.

They know that good environments cost money. They also know cost does not prove quality.

That is the balance.
